Does anyone have any photos of a properly painted 151 in summer merdc camo pattern.
Best regards

Thanks George,
What I'm looking for is an actual picture, this must be an unpopular camo pattern.
My client wants something different but an actual military pattern.

The idea behind MERDC was to allow a unit to move from one region to another and only have to paint over certain colors to match the new region.

The whole implementation of the schemes was a mess. Units were told to change to the new pattern without much guidance. Some of them did great jobs following the patterns and used air guns to apply. Others did not do so good with the patterns and handed troops brushes and said go to it. So the only pattern I have ever seen on MV's with them from the Army is the Winter US & Europe-Verdant. You can use the winter verdant pattern examples and just change out the Field Drab with Light Green.

hi

it was not only a mess bud there was a other problem
every country had there own camo
the enemy see at the camo with country
if you only want to shoot the USA vehicle`s look at his  camo
after this the 3 collar NATO camo was better

maybe a bit wrong written bud the idea is there :D

I never came across a picture (or a real vehicle) that was painted Summer pattern. It seems that the army used the winter-US & Europe pattern and stuck with it throughout the year.

Here's a large-sized schematic of how the pattern should look. George has already listed the colors.

The National Guard unit here in S. Illinois had their 151's painted that way in the late 70's. We nicknamed it the Nam job for it looked like it was patterned off the Vietnam ERDL jungle fatigues. If I remember right, none had stencils.

I NEVER saw anything in Vietnam THAT color! And it would have stood out since pretty much everything over there was a drab color.
