Re: Interesting photo in this months Supply Line..
Lol, yes its got serial numbers. It's got a ton of hours on it(over 9k) and worn out steering. It also has nearly new pneumatic tires which alone was worth the price of admission. Since as is typical of this page folks always assume the worst I'll give you the whole story. And Rick, rather than mobsters, imagine folks from your neck of the woods all sharing the same tooth. That's who dropped it off
It's a hydrostat and when it arrived it kept stalling out coming off the trailer when the guy would try to steer it. He said it just started doing that and figured it was an easy fix. My guess is that the motor bogging down and killing the machine scared him and he decided to dump it cheap before it got worse. I knew as soon as I heard it what it was and said nothing as the guy stalled it 5 or 6 times driving it into my driveway. Anyone who works on or around hydraulics knows the sound of cavitation in the pump. At least you certainly get to know it when you work on junk and worn out hydraulics like I seem to do. So I was pretty sure the noise and bogging down was just a bad suction line somewhere or the fluid was low. Upon inspection the fluid was clear and full. So I ran it up and in idle started wiggling hoses to the steering. In this forklift, the steering pump is fed from the same reservoir as the main hydros but its fed into a standard power steering pump. Sure enough when I wiggled the cracked and split looking suction line of the PS pump I could hear air sucking in. I wrapped the line in electrical tape and then drove it over and pickup my S250 shelter. No bogging and all was well.
Then I drove into a low spot in my yard and got it stuck up to its belly. Stupid old septic tank. That recovery is another story.
Anyway to get back on topic, my point is that FB can be worth it if you give it a try.

Better than the NEW septic tank!! I just can't picture a forklift in your small yard. I CAN however picture your delivery and described persons doing it.
