I am sure Muttguru will pick up on this pretty quick and he is the guy who has all that info. If you have any pictures I can tell you he will ask for some of the body tag and we would love to see some of the vehicle. Welcome aboard.

Amsco.....

Thanks for posting the information. There are a couple of items that need a slight correction.....

- The DDAE07-79-D-5016 should read DAAE07-79-D-5016
- The Vehicle Identity Number 151-08853 should read D151-03853.

The vehicle was part of a batch ordered by the USMC and delivered late 1979 through to 1982. Large batches of these were parked up at Barstow MCLB for years, eventually being sold off for export outside the USA. A few were bought legitimately within CONUS by authorised museums.

Does this help? We'd all love to see some pictures :D :D

Amsco.....

the Vehicle Identification Number box should say:- 524978 D151-03853

Nothing else. The plates were NOT stamped with USMC.

If it were to have a Hood Number, it would appear as USMC 524978. If the vehicle is in one color only, this number can go on the hood. If the vehicle is painted camo (or marked up ready to be painted camo) then this number would go on the dash at the passenger side, and the "USMC" would appear on the driver's side rear bumperette with the "524978" on the passenger side rear bumperette.

If you send me some photos, I'll post them up on the Board for you.
