Great idea. !!
I still like the idea on who found/bought a Mutt lately. It's a great way to share stories and who was on the losing/winning end with their recent purchase.
Hey Rick, just curious.. Do you own/run the G503.com also ?

No I do not, far from it. Long story behind that one that you would have to go back to the beginning posts of the g838 to learn about. I actually do not own the 838, I just moderate it.

The guy's name is Randy. He lives in Morristown Mn. Just one hour south of twin cities.

When spring comes, I am going to pull the powerpack out, to make it lighter. Also, to work on that frame. I am afraid it is going to fold in half.

I had the jeep inspected by the KS Highway Patrol. They are going to issue me a title, so that is good news.

Sorry to hear about the prototype Mutt! Last November I was all but in the truck on my way to buy it. I talked to the owner on the phone a couple times, and he never disclosed it had any rust. At least it's fixable, and I hope you end up restoring the lower end. It would be a shame for anyone to part out such a rare vehicle especially when "normal" Mutts are easy to come by. Even if it only serves as a stationary museum piece, it is cool.

I will do my best to get the engine running again.. I don't plan on parting it out...YET..
There is a few mutts out there for sale, but not many anymore...
I will quote another member here.. "you can find them, but they all have rust or have been beaten to death (rock crawling or rubbing trees bark off)

I slightly disagree. There are many relative good ones out there still. I actually believe you will be able to get more over time as owners are selling and demand is dropping.

I agree with Horst, You keep saying there are none for sale and yet I see them all the time. Surveyor is always posting them on here. Some good and some bad but that is part of it. I pointed you towards a fantastic one and you passed. They are out there. They are not rare. As far as the one you bought I still say expose the slimy bastard for what he is on the 503! Show picture and post his claims of no rust. Post that ad I sent you from SS. Get the word out about him. I can't really help you since he did not advertise it on here. All I can do is warn people about him.

Rick, "I pointed you towards a fantastic one and you passed"
Which one was that, do you remember. ?
About exposing Randy from the g503 forum. I would need help posting pictures over there of the rusted out frame, and all the missing parts to get it running again. Thanks, Mike

The one I pointed out was this one, http://www.g838.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=11334. It was bought by Vzike in Fla. He said it is the best one he has bought so far.

I sent that to you in a PM on 1/13 at 09:44.

Thanks Rick, I do remember that one. He was a Fellow retired Marine too. My only regrets was he was in Vermont and it looked like it needed a lot of body works (the sides were all smashed in) aka. Tree bark remover mutt. (Just my 2 cents) Glad the new owner is happy. Cheers
