Boat = Bring Out Another Thousand or a hole in the water you throw money into
An airplane, I don't think there even is an acronym for the money spent on them is there?  Between the annual inspection, the 100 hour inspection, the fuel, insurance and spot rental they are EXPENSIVE!!!
And if you guys think M-151 parts are expensive?! You ain't seen nothing yet!!!
Now if you get a Super Cub you could land it in your front yard.

Are you looking for something to putter around the county or do you want to fly interstate? I have been all up and down the East coast and to Bahamas in both a Cessna 152 and a 172. I went to Oshkosh in a Super Cub, THAT was the LONGEST and most uncomfortable flight EVER!!! We did it over the coarse of four days but still, a very slow airplane with VERY minimum electronics and creature comforts. It did have heat, Kind of.    GREAT air conditioning!

Another great advantage of the Super is that if needed you can just about land in someones driveway. With a 45 MPH stall speed and a little headwind you can land and stop in less than 50 feet. Of coarse you have to watch out for the 35 foot wingspan.

Sorry, only thing I ever owned that flew was an ultralight and I sold that many years ago. Really wish now that I hadn't.

There ok but anything more than a 15 MPH wind and it gets interesting and over 30 MPH you are in trouble, land wherever you can at that point because you are not making it back to the airport.

Tried hang gliding, it was fun for a while till I got overconfident and ended up faceplanting a failed takeoff! The problem with hang gliding is if you live in a state that is flat you really don't have a lot of options. I may still get back into ultralights but the price has just gone out of this world! They used to be an aluminum frame with a few control wires, a seat and an engine. Now they are a small version of a full size airplane complete with electronics. I don't think they even make the spindly ones anymore. Another thing I would love is a Mosquito helo. You listening Horst? Those things are neat!
