Any value in 60’s vintage batteries?

Unread post by whirook » July 30th, 2018, 5:16 pm

Ok long story short but while cleaning out my grandmother’s garage I came across an original m151 battery and a Duce batteries. Both are dated from the 60’s. Neither has ever had acid in them. Other then just scrap value do they have any useful value? I know that in some restoration circles people try to make there restoration s as correct as possible. Is this true of anyone in to MV’s? Too bad there is only one of each. Would be great if they were a set of two.

As long as they have never been filled with acid they will last forever. The main problem with them is that they only have half the power of modern batteries and generally do not last long. The last ones I had quit in two years. You can sill buy new 2Hn batteries plus you can get them in AGM variety. So unless you are going for that 100 point restoration......................................
