I defer to Rick on this one. That would make sense for an a1 or a2 for a safe place to put it. Since this is an early and the only type I have to compare too that would be a logical place to put it. The turd bird who retrofitted mine for turn signals back in the day placed the control box on the side wall right by the gas pedal. Perfect to get a boot caught. A soldier installed it more than likely. :D

17 is the high beam indicator lamp, 40 are the panel lamps and 33 is the temperature indicator. Be sure you get the wires on the gauges correctly, on plug will have a raised rib on it and the gauge will have a corresponding socket with the raised rib. #27 is the hot wire that feeds all of the gauges and if I remember correctly this is the one that will have the raised rib on it. The #33 wire goes from the gauge to the sending unit in the back of the head. And 27B goes to the Voltmeter. I figured you may ask.  Windshield wiper is #71.

Thanks, Rick. I am taking a few days off from this. My 62 did not have front turn signals or that box that Matt showed.
However, I just happen to have that box and a A2 turn signals to mount on my steering column. So I am getting there.
You would not believe the after market wiring I have removed. It was a fire waiting to happen. The mice ate most of the connections, so a lot of tab Numbers are missing. It's not a simple plug in and play. Errr.

I thought you had a whole new front A2 harness? If so the numbers are on that harness. Throw out ALL of the old wiring.

You have a new harness, start by removing ALL of the old wiring. You will not need any of it and it will just confuse things if you try to leave it in there. You should also get a rear harness since that probably looks just like the front. And that temperature gauge is a mechanical aftermarket, not original. No reason why you can't use it as long as the tube and sender are not broken. Or just get the sender for the engine and use the wire in the new harness. This one will be more accurate.

Before you go any further it would be wise to get a copy of the A2 wiring diagram from the -20 manual.
The one I have was then blown up and mounted on the wall for reference.
Go to the net and get a list of wire numbers so you will atleast be able to see what any wire is related to.
As Rick said strip everything that is now there and hopefully avoid some confusion.
Mount all the switches and flasher in the right spots.
Dont forget the breakers .
Have wired a number of 151s over the years .
They are are a tangle of wires and some times can be confusiong but for the most part very logical.
Patience is needed.

Hope this helps.

I do have a new A2 harness from red river. I thought the pictures showed some of it. Anyway, No problem. I appreciate your help and knowledge in the electrical dept. The Wiring diagram you sent me does not break down exact location for a lot of wires, that is where I hit a brick wall.

Here is a GOOD diagram from Pedros.cz. Really high resolution so you can enlarge it to HUGE and still see it clearly.

That link to that wiring diagram should be in the wiki. It's good.
