release date of A2

release date of A2

Hi folks,

I'm wondering when the A2 has been built or released.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M151_%C2% ... lity_truck states 1970.
In the book 'Off Road Jeeps Civilian & Military' I found a depicted letter from an US Colonel who speaks of 1968.
Anybody knows for sure ?

I thought it was 1969, but I looked it up, said 1968

The first A2's went into service in 1970 and were built by Ford. AMG took over the contract mid 1971 and made them from then on. I should say they were built in 1970, I don't really know when they went into service. I was in Vietnam in 1972 and they were just getting there at that time.
