Locking gas cap ?
I sure would give me peace of mind knowing that my jeep can't be sabotaged. Someone should make these. (2 cents)
Re: Locking gas cap ?
I remember an in-service modification where a hole was drilled into the rolled rim of the gas tank spout, and a matching tab was added to the cap. Result was a pair of aligned holes for using a padlock to secure the gas cap in place.

Re: Locking gas cap ?
There was a USMC instruction on how to install a swivelling bar with a padlock at one end....this prevented the cap from being removed without the padlock key. Here's a picture of a similar device as well as the version JIM has mentioned already.
According to the MI, it's around 30 minutes work to make.

Re: Locking gas cap ?
My gas cap does not have a lock on it. But, what concerns me is that it is real loose. Turns so easy and feels loose. Does your cap close tight or is it loose so it can vent?

They should be snug, your gasket has dried out or is missing. Jim Hybicki used to have some he made that were ethanol resistant so they would not swell up like a marshmallow like the real rubber ones do.
