Richie Miller (mutt parts)
Folks,
I share with you an email from Angelo Passerini about Richie's passing:
From Angelo Passerini Facebook this afternoon:
It’s a sad day.
With tears in my eyes and a missing chunk of my heart I’m writing of the passing of my friend, my mentor, my partner Rich Miller.
He was the second friend I met when I moved in this country in 1993, we share the passion of restoring military vehicles and when in 2001 I floated the idea to combine forces to make his parts business an icon of the internet, he first stopped and said “no computers for me”.
I went on, not only by make him comfortable with a computer, but kind of happy to learn new things.
I will miss his daily phone call that opened with his only Italian word “Buongiorno” (good morning) no matter if it was 0600 or 1500…
We shared so many things: shows, trips, funny and sad stuff.
When I lost my father (to the same illness) he made a special place for me in his heart and family making feel welcome as a son and I will forever be grateful for that.
He survived the jungle of Vietnam, where he returned for a healing trip in the 90’s, he survived hurricanes when he moved from Long Island to Alabama and he probably survived so many other perils that marks the road of our life, but he fell to an aggressive form of leukemia, a little blood cell that goes crazy, and that is probably the only thing I can not accept.
There are no words to describe how I feel, I can’t imagine how his wife and children feel, there is only hope that his suffering is now ended and he’s in peace.
I know there is a place for people like Rich in heaven, I know because my dad is there waiting for him with an old jeep on the lift and brand new set of tools.
I will miss you Rich.
Angelo
He was truly a GREAT friend and I will miss him!
The few, the proud! Semper fi Marine!

Re: Richie Miller (mutt parts)
I met Rich at my 1st rally! talked for hours that weekend!
We became very good friends after that. All ways enjoyed him either on the phone or in person at a event!
He was a true GENTELMAN! and class act!
I was devastated yesterday when I found out.
God speed Richard Miller , you are loved and will be greatly missed in my life.

Sorry to hear about this. I brought parts from them when they were Riv-Rad (Riverhead Radiator) and up on long Island. My thoughts are with his friends & family.

Pic's ? Stories ? Obit.? Come on guys.
When one of us dies, they deserve a little more than this. ( I hope )
I salute all Vets and like to learn more about our fallen comrades, especially ones who were Family (M-151).

Thanks for the info and keeping his memory alive. 70 is too young, but I guess we have no say in it. God Bless
