Hi all newbie here, I’m from the uk, I’m in the throws of buying M151-1A mutt it’s 1970 8000 miles totally original not been messed with at all, the seller is asking £14,000 = $17000 ish for it and I’m not to sure if this is a reasonable price for it, so any information from anyone who knows more than me ( not hard) will be appreciated, thanks Dennis

Well, to start with, welcome to the forum and to a new year. To the vehicle, a 1970 would be an A2 made by Ford and it should have unique fenders that only were produced for a year and a half. So right off you have a conundrum. You have what is being called an A1 but made in A2 year. You are in luck though since our number one authority on mutts is right there in England. Ken the Mutt Guru hopefully will pick up on this and chime in and you may find you are close enough to converse directly.

for 17k it must be in a top notch condition, however I am not surprised that price go up a little. On one hand side the demand is not high which would warrant prices dropping, but it seems to me that also that supply is low.

If you can, post (good quality) pictures of the jeep here and we will be happy to comment on the condition and if it is really all original. Sometimes people hate that but in your case it could be a good part of a pre-buy-inspection

Hello Dennis.......

good to hear from you. The guys on this board are the best in the business...... you could not have arrived at a better place for advice.

As has already been said, £14k for an A1 seems VERY high....so it is going to have to be in absolutely brilliant condition for that sort of money. And apparently you've been told that it is a 1970 M151A1? Hmmm....I doubt it somehow..... :D

Whereabouts are you in the UK?

And...most important....let's see some pictures of this A1 so that we can better advise you before purchase.
Kind regards....
Ken

Dennis, go HERE for instructions on how to post images. A picture is worth a thousand words and you will receive much better guidance if we can see what you are seeing.

There's a lot of goodness there with just the right amount of patina to give it legitimacy. Not sure about the price, though.

Frankly, I don't see anything that jumps right out at me. From the limited number of photos, it has the appearance of a legitimately maintained truck that someone has enjoyed in its original condition.
