On a related note... https://www.military.com/daily-news/201 ... ivery.html Hopefully all involved came out okay.

It Took The Army 4 Years To Field The JLTV. It Took Soldiers 4 Days To Total One
Beyond the Army, the Marine Corps planned on fielding 69 JLTVs to an infantry battalion with II Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. God knows how many of those will survive their first week.

Surveyor, Did you post this video? It is 10 seconds of vehicles and then it went to a transgender thing. Don't really need that on here.

Negative. It's just a news story that caught my eye through google news. Scroll down and you will see the rolled vehicle on its side. The videos are just in a rotation and play after each other like youtube. Dont think there is a rhyme or reason, just something the website probably ran a story about before. Ill switch it to another site.

Youtube. Look for "JLTV flips over during press outing."

Probably not intentional but I'm sure they got some good data off that incident.

You can roll anything, especially at speed, add a couple tons of armor high up and you have a very tipsy vehicle. They did not learn this with the HMMWV and they did not learn it with the MRAP and they did not learn it with the Strykers. They are going to keep rolling these to because they just refuse to learn. Do you know how easy it is to roll an M60 tank? Pretty damn easy according to a buddy of mine who was a M60 commander and he lost several people under his command that way. Armor is not made to be pushed to it's driving limits. Long travel suspension and high center of gravity guarantees a rollover. Anyone in off road performance can tell you that.
You know what the ironic part of this is? The GI Field built gun trucks in Vietnam were very high center of gravity and they VERY SELDOM rolled over and when they did it was usually in a battle situation. Know why? The drivers KNEW HOW TO DRIVE!!!!!!! They used common sense and realized they had a high center of gravity and drive the turns slower than usual.

Here is a good video of the JLTV but you could still roll it. I would love to have one. Look at the end of the video where they are making a tight radius turn in the lot. You can see the lean. Now add 10 mph to that and you are over.

Curious as to why the driver is on the wrong side for an Oz vehicle? I know of several guys that imported HMMWVs into Australia and had to convert them to RHD.

I love those statements. Yea, there are some really wet fields that will suck a vehicle right down. And if it is one of those field I don't care if it is that vehicle there, a New JLTV or an old M-151, it ain't making it across. And the heavier vehicles are sinking faster.

So I am curious, after making that statement just what vehicle would you suggest WOULD make it across that muddy field?

We took a M38 across a muddy picked corn field and had mud packed into the skid plates. Been doing the mud thing for 46 years and I can get one across a muddy field. Now you guys who run the asphalt and go to Walmart all the time and have rubber floor mats in your Jeep may want to stay on the asphalt because your not following me.

I think the one in the clips is for the French market, hence the LHD. In this clip of an Australian version you can see the vehicle is RHD. http://army.tplhost.com/play/5519

in Queensland light vehicles older than 30 years may be LHD. Don’t ask me to explain the logic behind that, My MUTT is registered under the historical vehicle scheme but by just filling in the necessary forms I can change that to normal rego and use it as a daily runner (but at a higher annual fee).
