M151A2 Life Hack

Another use for those little moisture absorbing cartridges you find in medicine bottles.

Let's keep those light buckets dry!

Do you know how many hundreds of those I have thrown away?!!! Problem is that once they absorb their fill then they are done and need to be replaced.

As does your oil filter, fuel filter, et cetera....

I'll be the first to admit, I don't replace the gasket. There are limits to my mania and doggone it, I like livin' on the edge.

I have a huge dessicant bag in my gun safe and about every 6 months it goes in the oven at 350 for about an hour. All nice and dry and ready to start over.

Yeah, every little bag and capsule of the stuff, I keep for some other use. My favorite haunt for dessicant-bag freebies is Academy Sporting Goods. They're always laying all over the floor in the shoe section. It's amazing how useful they are.

That’s a good idea! I use them as loads for N scale flat cars and gondolas.

I recently bought a new safe and found a big rod that heats up to act as a dehumidifer

Idk how well it really works but the safe seems warm and dry inside
