Jerry can side mount
Anyone ever figure out how to use the mounting bracket pictured on page 204 of the -20P manual? The side mount view is sort of shown on p 218. The bracket has a notched channel at an angle similar to the outer fender, but the bracket won’t fit over the fender without being bent open a little to accommodate the non-right angles of the fender. It will not fit inside the fender forward or aft of the firewall. If anyone has mounted one of these please post a photo in your reply. I have found a few pictures on-line of the side mounted jerry can but none have enough detail to see if they used a bracket t all. In fact by the way the jerry can sits high on the fender, I would guess they did not.

I think you are talking about the one for the TOW jeep, I'm not sure about that one, this is how the ambulance mount looks.
Re: Jerry can side mount
Yes, that’s the one. Ambulance bracket. It doesn’t seem to fit anywhere under the fender. The long dimension of the bracket hits the firewall.??? This photo has the flat bracket.

Re: Jerry can side mount
The other brackets in the -20P manual page 204 item #2 and #6 have a square angled channel that looks like it should follow the outer fender flare, but fits neither inside or outside the fender. Maybe over if I bent it some over the fender flare.

I have been looking at that picture for ten minutes and I can't make heads or tails of it. You might want to get a better pic in the daylight and from straight on. You should not have to bend the original bracket.

Are you talking about this one?
Re: Jerry can side mount
Yes, i was trying to upload a photo and was getting my butt kicked. What is the squared channel part supposed to do?

That's looking down on top of bracket, here are the mount holes, this is on the 718, the A1C mounts different with support bracket.
Re: Jerry can side mount
The bolt pattern and placement in this photo would allow use of bracket #3 ( the completely flat one) i have the #2 or #6 with the angled channel in it. Does the channel just help space the bracket off the quarter panel?

My ambulance doesn't have the angled bracket.Egorto wrote:The bolt pattern and placement in this photo would allow use of bracket #3 ( the completely flat one) i have the #2 or #6 with the angled channel in it. Does the channel just help space the bracket off the quarter panel?

Looks like I'm missing that bracket, looks like there is a RH one for ambulance and LH for TOW jeep, maybe someone will chime in with more info.

Thank you all for your comments! I really appreciate having access to people who have experience and hands on knowledge. I’m the only guy at NASNI with one of these. Most have never seen one.
