I have tried to learn networking in the past but the problem is that there is far more to it than just PHP and SQL. You have all of the other associated languages and codings and then you need to know how and when to put it all together. And even more importantly you need to know what to do when something does not go as planned. If you screw up you could lose an entire database. I do not want to take that chance. I had an excellent guy but I have not been able to get hold of him so I am guessing he has gotten another job and moved on. My brain is wired for automotive engines and wiring and building security systems and locksmithing. Those are the areas I am proficient in as far as "smart guy" stuff goes. Other than that it is heavy equipment operation and truck driving. So I am not really cut out for computer networking. Even the security and locksmithing has advanced so far in the 5 years I have been out of it that I am way behind the times there too.

I've dabbled in phpbb and mysql in the past but I am no expert. Nor would I like to take on the blame for trashing the DB. If this is poll related, what about one of the free poll websites? Set one up and give everyone the link.

Thanks Surveyor, I think I want to just keep the poll internal. There tools to do it, I just need to find the time to look into it.
