Re: Site Donation
At our bank we have free checking, It's a 50+ account, meaning over 50 years old, comes with several added benefits, my wife's paypal goes into her checking, Paypal sends her a notification and she chooses to send it to checking acct. could you set up acct. in you name? DBA G838?
Re: Site Donation
That's an idea, Are you insinuating that I am over 50?! And I find it hard to believe your wife is over 50. You on the other hand

They don't have a 100+ account, though you would qualify.

Re: Site Donation
My daughter tells me that you can bank through Walmart banking. I have no personal knowledge on this, but she says it works fine for her.
I did a search for Walmart banking and it looks like is legit. It looks like you can do paypal, credit card or direct deposit or any other banking, it looks to be FDIC covered and it is no fee banking.
I DID NOT do an in depth inspection just hit the highlights, so doing your own search would be best. I do not know enough to give advice, just scratched the surface.
Can't hurt to look. Besides, you can do it on line at home and not need to go to a bank. LOL

Re: Site Donation
Thanks ODG, I set up a paypal account and I am going to have Hambone try it out with a small amount to see if everything works out ok. If it does I will put the info up here.

Re: Site Donation
I have set up a paypal account for donations....................... I think. That is a screwed up system to try to get going, especially when you are talking about handling money!! I am waiting for Hambone to send me a test donation to make sure it works before I announce it and put up the details. The last thing I want is everyone sending money and it never gets to me! That is the scenario I dread the most, everyone asking what I did with the money. I want all the bases covered before I go ahead with this.

Re: Site Donation
Ok, The account has been tested and is working. The Paypal address for site donations is rickfg838.org . Do this through friends and family so there is no service charge. Any amounts are appreciated and most of it is going to go towards the recent upgrades and updates and IT fees.

Re: Site Donation
Great, we are set up and ready to go! I'm sure we will all strive to have the number one M151 site. Any donations will be appreciated. I feel Rick will spend our money with everyone's thoughts in mind. We are open to suggestions that anyone might have, within our financial means, to improve this site. I feel this will be successful and will see the benefits in the future.
Re: Site Donation
That address is coming up invalid on paypal. Sure you are not missing an @ symbol?

Something still not right, just tried to send some money, Paypal says " rickf@g838.org not found".
Could be me, though. Will try again later.

Re: Site Donation
OK, well that's odd. I did a "copy and paste" of your address from the previous post, just above here and it did not work. I then did a "copy and paste" from the rickf@g838.org address in the top discussion and it did?????
Anyway, something sent, let me know if it worked. BTW, what I sent was just a test to see if it works.
