M151A1 wasting away

Unread post by 199th mp » August 22nd, 2020, 5:20 pm

when i lived in sacramento, there was a guy up at the corner, who flagged me down one day when i was out exercising my A1. he invited me to see something in his back yard. so i went back there, and he had an A1 sitting in his yard, up against the back of his garage. it had been there so long that weeds grew up around it, and there was an active wasp nest under the hood. i lived there for four more years before moving to washington, and tried several times to buy it from him. he always said no. i moved in 2014. i just now, out of curiousity, used the google earth maps feature to look into his back yard. it's still sitting there, exposed to the elements, wasting away. sometimes i just don't understand people.

Sometimes those Google earth pictures are pretty far out of date. You used to be able to use the date the pictures were taken on the bottom of the screen but that is not accurate anymore. I know that just from pics of my house and area. But if he wouldn't sell it before I am sure he never will.

rick made a good point, so i went back and looked. the date shown is 2020, and the changes on my old house are significant, and easily seen. my back yard is now half garden, with several sheds, and the maple tree is gone from my old front yard. the driveway is also at least 8 feet wider.

Sacramento is apparently also Margaritaville. I never would have guessed.
