Mutt Weekend - Ranch Time

Postby mrdibbles on January 23rd, 2010, 11:49 am

Hey Guys-
The Mutt's loaded and ready to make the 20 minute drive to the biggest parcel of undeveloped land in Austin proper. This area is huge. I think I drew out the property lines about right, though it may extend further towards HWY 1, but I was told it's 9K acres. I have three green jerry cans filled and my gas tank is full. I'll be patroling for coyote, pig, and all manner of varmint. My buddy is taking his M151A1 too so it's going to be a blast! I'll post pictures when I get back :) Can you believe it's January? It's going to be in the low 70's today!

I dream of 70 degrees and sunshine. This is the 8th straight day of fog and rain. I can't even remember what the sun looks like. At least it's 41 degrees out. 2 weeks ago it was 11 below 0. Oh well, I guess I can always go relax in my indoor pool. The water is a nice comfortable 90. :D 8) :P

Where are the guns? Didn't you mention killing some things?
Where is your hunting wig?
Looks good, that rolling renov of yours-
a stupid question- should the axe/shovel be painted tan like the rest?

There were w-a-a-a-a-a-y more kids than we thought there'd be so the rifles stayed locked up for much of the trip. The ranch was completely devoid of coyotes and hog. My buddy saw what looked like a coyote, about 400 yards off in the distance, but closer inspection proved it to be a yellow labrador. Now deer on the otherhand... those were plentiful. Unfortunately the season has long since ended and they apparently knew it. As for the axe and shovel... yeah I may do those in tan too but have been thinking some things will stay green for some contrast. We'll see though. "Hunting Wig"... now that's something to reconsider :D

That is a good hair piece. I usually use that one for pulling power packs but I suppose it could hunt too :!:
