TRAFFICJAM - M151A2

Unread post by mrdibbles » February 13th, 2008, 11:19 pm

Hey Guys-
Have you ever wanted to jam your neighbors satelite dish? Or disrupt the phone calls your daughter is making to boyfriends? This could be the solution:

TRAFFICJAM is a tactical communications jammer. The original system (AN/TLQ-17A(V)1) was configured using two M151 Jeeps and two M416 Towed Trailers. When the Jeeps became obsolete, the AN/TLQ-17A(V)1 was re-configured to a (V)3 which housed the electronics in an S-250 shelter, and used a commercial utility cargo vehicle (CUCV). When the Highly Mobile Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) was approved for use by the Army, the CUCV was replaced by the HMMWV.
The AN/TLQ-17A(V)2 is the configuration of TRAFFICJAM that is used on the AN/ALQ-151(V)2 (QUICKFIX). The
AN/TLQ-17A(V)4 (SANDCRAB) is the designation for the long range COMMINT and Jamming System. SANDCRAB employs the AN/TLQ-17A(V)3 and an OE-317 Antenna System.

I had one of those antennas They work from like 30 Mhz all the way up to like 174 or so Mhz. Really nice with lots of gain and directional.
There is one nut on a M151 that is very difficult to remove.....

Taken all the fun out of it (Memories)

Unread post by 64 M151 » February 14th, 2008, 9:24 pm

Taken all the fun out of it when your old man would tell you go out to turn the antenna when its raining, blowing 90 to nothing, freezing weather to get a good picture on the boob tub and yealing out the window also if the antenna wasn't close to the TV then the whole family would lined up yealing in relay. Oh I forgot about your younger folk because this was before cable, satelite & digital singals.

Wonder what the old man would have done if we mounted the antenna on the car when he got home and drove it around the yard, up & down the street, hum very intresting theory, LOL but true.

Later Joe

P.S. I forgot about stomping the floor, hiting / slaping the TV, puting tin foil on the rabbit ears and in some case we had rabbit ears and antennas work together.

I remember those days!!!!!!! Boy do I remember. That was part of growing up, turning the antenae. I thought I was in heaven when dad bought an electric rotator.
