Another silly question

Unread post by muttero » May 10th, 2010, 2:57 am

Well, I think most of you already know it, but not me:

where should a Jack be placed under the mutt in order to elevate it, and replace a damaged wheel? of course I am asking this just in the case that I need to replace a wheel, but also, because I am going to do severel underneath repairs (some gaskets) and I have no hole in the floor, neither an elevator, so my best is to elevate the car and put some wood pieces under it, and here is the second question, where should I put those wood pieces?

I am asking all those questions, because I know that this car has no chasis......

Many thanks for the help.

Dear sir,

Many thanks for your replay, but I do not know the meaning of wishbone, and the two translators I work with, do not recognise this word......

Actually that is not the first time I have seen that. There was a prototype with pontoons that did the same thing for actuall propulsion in the water. Like most prototypes it did not go far.

First time for me... Wasn't there also a concept for a amphibious mutt too? i remember Ken posting a picture of the concept.

Then i doubt that this tiny propeller would propel something which displaces more than a ton of water.
I guess the idea was that they could counter the Vietnamese boats smuggling arms with a amphibious jeep...

I actually did float and drive my 151 in the service during pre VN maneauvers at Ft Hood 1966. As I recall there is a manual for it - two fifty five gallon drums front and back on each side lashed to 2X4s. Put it 4 wheel drive and it goes, well errrr advances, though slow enough for a family of water moccasin snakes to come after us. Agressive beasts.
