M151 CONVOY light kit

Unread post by m151tx » April 20th, 2008, 3:46 pm

Hi Guys.

I have attached a picture of the M151 Convoy light kit I got from a buddy a while ago that I have installed on a A1 I am restoring.

The standoffs allow the bows to be erected or stowed and still clear the light assembly, the footman loop on the upper standoff is for a strap on a canvas cover used to cover the light when it is not in use.

The light is wired via a switch and relay to the service drive side of the main lighting circuit.

Now that is a SERIOUS convoy light. I like the idea of wiring to the service lights. That has never really come up.

Hi Rick.

I know, it stands a lot further out than I thought it would and is bright as hell.

This kit was packaged specifically for the 151 and was not issued that widely, I had not seen another quite like this using the box section standoff brackets .

The wiring is kinda involved for something as simple as a convoy light !!

Halftracknut: Actually the light is powered by a little hamster that runs in circles inside the globe with a yellow "glow stick" wrapped around its little head :D .
