Need clothing help

Unread post by rickf » April 20th, 2008, 8:51 pm

This is not mutt related but it is old fat guy related. When I was in the service I sure as hell did not need suspenders but now...................
I bought some at Aberdeen last year and I just got them out to put with the rest of my stuff that I am going to wear. These things are strange!? I though they would have the normal four straps with buttons to attach to the fatigues. Not these, They have four straps that cross in the back but come together in the front. Basicly fout into two with two hooks tat looks like they would hook onto a belt, left front, right rear. The numbers on the suspenders are as follows.

SUSPENDER, TROUSER M1950
P.M. MFG. CO.
DEC 51 QM - 22925
MI - S - 10926 QMC
ST.NO.73-S 73025
NYOMPA

Can someone please tell me how to get dressed?

I knew that was coming but my camera was stolen and I have not had the funds to replace it thanks to the lovely code people. (see other post on that subject  ) I am going to try to swing a camera in the next week or so.

Rick I like this thread more than most. Thank you for our first "how do I get dressed" thread. This is a milestone! I agree with Rainman though... pictures would help and would increase the potential of making this not just a "good" thread but a "legendary" one

Ralph, YOU are the MAN!!!!!!! I do not think there is a question that is associated with a picture that Ralph can not find! I could not grasp the concept of suspenders with only two hooks. Unfortunatly my BDU's do not have the loop and the belt loops are not in the right place. And for you Mr. D. Be careful, very careful, these things would make a hell of a sligshot!

Not for nothing, but go out and get some regular commofladge suspenders...the local surplus store might have them or even some place like walmart or super K....You'll thank yourself in the long run. Those suspenders were designed for the artic pants to keep them up and they didn't work well at that.
There is one nut on a M151 that is very difficult to remove.....

Guys I don't mean to hijack this post but I am thinking. With some of the off-roading I am starting in on, with my A2 and Tundra, I am feeling like Rick... I could use some support! Can you guys please help me understand how to wear this? I would imagine it will keep me proper, if worn correctly, on those jarring trail rides
