Looking for the words to an old story.

Unread post by Bill, Idaho » May 14th, 2008, 10:49 pm

Not very long ago, I ran across a story of a soldier in WW2 that was all by himself, with his rifle and maybe a bazooka straped over his shoulder. The way I remember it, (I think I read it somewhere) The grunt walked up on a retreating tank--one of ours. As my feeble memory remembers, the soldier asked where the tank was going and the driver said they were leaving the area. The soldier, being from either the 101st or maybe the 82 nd, said something to the effect of "I'm in the 82nd and I'm drawing the line right here, they won't get past me...."-----or something like that.
Does anyone have the correct accurate story of this (I don't care if the story is true or not)? When I read it, it was one of the most inspiring things I've read in a long time.

Thanks guys.
