Help Automatic transmission Can I have one

Recently paralyzed would love to have a auto trans in my Mutt any body have an idea of what to use
Any help

The Hawk missile loader used a Ford C4 automatic behind the M-151 motor. The problem being is that I am not sure what was used for a driveline. You would not have four wheel drive. While I am not one to say it cannot be done I will say it would be very hard and very expensive. You would have to use a transfer case from a different vehicle since the transfer in a 151 is part of the manual transmission. I am not really sure there is enough space to put it all under there.

The military did a test using a Borg-Warner model 40 3 speed, they were not happy with the over all outcome and ditched the project. I will add that, as rick said, it took a lot of mods to get it to work. :(

Could that be a large centrifugal clutch ????????

could that be planetary gears with a reverser??? Like a model T Ford???

That is a Hawk loader engine. (the give away is the 6 bladed fan).
The round thing on the back is the torque converter housing. The automatic tranny bolts up to this housing.

Also note the fan blows forward. The main problem would be that the starter mounts to the bell housing on the lower passenger side on the front. No can do on a 151.
