I LOVE it. Talk about engineering! I would love to see the drive train. A PTO winch!!

LOL, that was really cool... I guess it was my google translator and all, but it was like trying to read the script for "master Yoda" on Star Wars... I loved the article though, and it seems several of them had wondered how he got an H-tag for it, and something about proving the conversions were done 30 years ago?? I guess that had something to do with registration??
The only other thing I picked up on with master Yoda was they wondered if it was an A-1, it does appear to have the A-1 turn signal fender brackets, only different looking lights are mounted behind those brackets... I bet that thing is a hoot to drive around in though...

I bet that idea was spawned after a few Biers had within the confines of a fest tent. Back of the napkin sketches have been the start of many a cool project!

Horsepower would have been a step down at 53 for a 1500 Type 3 Dual carb or 60 for a 1600 Type 3 with dual carbs. I would still love to have seen the drive train. It had a Muncie trans in there.

Yeah I noticed the tranny too, but I didn't know know much about those except for a few buddies back in high school use to really like one called a rock crusher or something?? they were hot rod buff's, that had all sorts of cars sporting posi-track rear ends and fast powerful engines. "Every street in town" had them blasted double blackened peel marks all over the place too. And as far as the VW engine goes, LOL I use to have a 60's model baha bug that could tote the front wheels off the ground in Second gear, but it was a bored over engine and I can't remember which size it was, that were a long time ago... LOL. Of coarse it wasn't near as heavy as the 151 either...rickf wrote:Horsepower would have been a step down at 53 for a 1500 Type 3 Dual carb or 60 for a 1600 Type 3 with dual carbs.
