Posting pics of pickled processed M151A2 engine

Unread post by MUTT_KAHUNA ED » January 11th, 2015, 5:37 pm

Now say that fast 3 times!...I traded a friend some auto parts for a crated AMG M151A2 engine...So I brought it home to open as a late Christmas gift for myself...I've have/had NOS,T/O engines but never one like this long block...the wood crate wasnt in good shape... so here's the engine in its foam/silver preservation paper...real cool as it had all these NOS boxed parts in the box....enjoy the pics

Very cool indeed.
Starting to feel old, as the late 70's/early 80's NOS/excellent condition militaria is drying up.
Back 20-25 years ago one could pick up a NOS WWII Harley WLA motor in the wooden crate for 250-500. Some guys would pull one side off the crate and replace it with plexi and display it.
I'd be tempted to leave your engine wrapped up. A true time machine, and it will appreciate. The common stuff is cheap, your engine is hard to find these days.
Thanks for sharing!

I'll give you a hundred and a half.   You KNEW that was coming.   You can try the dealers but they are going to offer wholesale since they are going to want to retail it and make money. Is there a Fastenall anywhere near you? They ship pretty cheap so that would open up a wider area of possibility.
