Why are you guys afraid of controversy?

Unread post by retiredpara » January 27th, 2015, 11:14 pm

The hottest topic on this board, as far as I can tell, in a long long time. There are last posts on some of the topics that are a year old, or many months/weeks...
I don't get it.
Send me your addresses. Happy to send you girls some panties that dont fit so tight.

I have no clue what this is about, it makes no sense but I am guessing it has to do with the Mutt thread I locked. If you feel there is more usefull information to add to that thread I will unlock it. As it was the same things were being said over and over just using different ways of saying it. Mutt was used by Ford. Mutt was not used by the military. Settled. I will not let this forum degrade to the level of some of the others where people are bashing each other and competing for who has the bigger vocabulary. There are three moderators on this forum and I do confer with the other two so it is not like I am god on here. I do not want this to turn into a Pirate 4x4 forum. I have made clear before that if the general population does want that then I will concede defeat and leave and you all can do as you wish.

Sometimes it is controversy, sometimes it is just tedious.

I think all one needs to do is go spend some time on "bad" forums to understand why mod staff do what they do.

Rick, keep the thread locked! It was getting out of hand and leading up to an argument not a discussion, I feel the question ask has been answered and everyone will continue to call them what they want, there is no need to change anything just because the word MUTT may upset someone.

We aren't afraid of controversy, we are here to help everyone that likes/love and is trying to preserve the M-151 model 1/4 Ton truck/Jeep/Mutt, not to change the name the world knows it by. You can send me some panties, I like Vanity Fair in size 36 in blue. :)

As much as would like to pick on you guys for subtracting 8 inches off your waistline when placing your order for panties, I will have to abstain.
Otherwise Rick will have to lock this thread down too. Its becoming a continuation of the first, but now its off topic too.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious, ( the magical waistlines!) The wandering is a non-issue. Raymond, It is bad enough you post pictures of yourself half naked in the heated pool but now you are talking about buck naked boxers. You do realize you just cost me my breakfast, and probably lunch too once I read this again at lunchtime.

 Yes but, this is the only forum where you can have some fun and not get booted, we may burn your ears ( in this case your eyes ) and slap you on the knuckles with a wood yardstick but you can keep on playing! 8)

BTW. I bumped into a Marine (72-76) today, and he called my jeep a "Mutt." Didn't do it back in the day, but now is looking to buy one himself, hence the name. He assumed it was a Army term for the vehicle :P

He tried to quiz me on the meaning of the "A" in M151A. That's right just 'M151A'. In his lingo it meant that the vehicle had a fording kit.
Is that a Marine destination? Like M151A2-A. I'm not sure if I learned something new today, or just got babbled at by an old Marine.
