Tootallmike signing out :(
Well folks, I've sold the MUTT
I've really enjoyed owning it but I'm the type who enjoys the restoration/rebuild more than the driving & now it's finished I want to work on other projects - the cab of my Ward Lafrance wrecker needs to be rebuilt and re-wired this winter and I'd really like to make a start on the Autocar if I can find dry storage for it. I've also bought a tractor, my Land Rover needs attention, there's another project tank to finish and so it goes on...
The new owner of the MUTT collected it last night. I've given him the URL for this site and told him it's THE place for MUTTs on the web. I'm sure you'll all make him feel welcome as you did me. Many thanks for all the help, advice and encouragement over the last couple of years and best wishes for all of your own projects and expeditions.
Best regards - Mike

No need to go. In restoring an M151 the way you did, you gained knowledge that might be needed by others attempting a similar restoration, Plus, I'd like to see some pics of the military rover. Not many of them here in the U.S.

I agree Mike, I am sure you will be on other sites dedicated to your respective vehicles but be sure to stop back once in a while to say hello. Most of us do not have the dedication needed to do the type of detailed restorations that you do so your expertise is very welcome here.

Re: Tootallmike signing out :(
Greetings one and all,
I am the very lucky person who bought Mike's MUTT. It now lives in sunny Essex with me and my family. The kids love it. We had a VW Iltis before, which had it's moments but never fulfilled my ideas of MV ownership. I first saw a MUTT at Beltring in 1998 and fell in love. Now ten years on I have one. There are have been enough superlatives about the restoration job Mike has done on the vehicle on this forum, on G503 and on HMVF where I am a moderator and general gobshite.
So, thanks to Mike..who I'll see around the events season and beyond and hello to you all...

Hey Snapper
You got yourself a heck of a M151. We all followed Mike's restoration. If I'm not mistaken, here disassembled virtually the whole thing and sandblasted each part before reassembly. Not many meticulous restorations like that come up for sale. Hope you enjoy her.

Re: Tootallmike signing out :(
First welcome to Snapper....
Second...I agree with what everyone else said...don't go! I too am 151 less, but feel that 25 years of working on them I just might know a trick or two to pass along.

There is one nut on a M151 that is very difficult to remove.....

Re: Tootallmike signing out :(
Will do. Just investigating an oil leak - hope it's not something I've done - and playing around. I'm hoping I can care for the beast as well as Mike did. I don't have much in the way of mechanical skills, but I do have friends with big tool kits.
I'll post some snaps as soon as...
cheers!
