That's either really cool or a shame. Not sure yet.

Is that the one that came from Gerald Creley's (last name spelling?) and was owned by R.A. at some point? Looks just like it or similar.

Re: Cut Away Display M151A1
This is actually from the Sam Warner Collection. We are redoing it for the New museum being made Near Chattanooga. The best info I can give is its from (sounded like he said) Fort Dix surplus? Before that Mark at Rappco Bought it and didn't even make it home with it before Sam Warner saw it and bought it.Austringer wrote:Is that the one that came from Gerald Creley's (last name spelling?) and was owned by R.A. at some point? Yes!! I have high aspirations for this project. I am hoping to restore this function best I can. However Engine, Transmission and rear diff are frozen. I am 80% sure there is no rods or pistons in it via the stick test. Right now taking apart the engine see if I can at least get it to turn over by hand. So far rockers will not move and about to drop the oil pan see what it looks like. When I pulled the oil pan plug red thin fluid came out (looks like ATF) and then gallon of water came out.Horst wrote:so that motor in the passenger compartment turns the whole drive train?
Which brings me to the next question, any questions on lubrication if I succeed if getting it freed up? I am guessing the low rpms will not draw oil via the engine pump. So I was thinking some heavy grease (or lucas oil stabilizer stuff) coat all moving parts basically with it.
Re: Cut Away Display M151A1
So you just need the crank and the camshaft. That should be an easy job to free it up then.

Re: Cut Away Display M151A1
Well I'll be a monkeys uncle, she has rods and pistons. Can I pull them out through the bottom or do I need to remove the head?

Head or remove the crank. Whatever is easier for you

Re: Cut Away Display M151A1
Got the Rods and pistons removed. Pistons were frozen to walls and rods to pistons. Had to use a Air chisel to get them out. Ended up removing head as well. Ended up pulling the middle cap off to allow the crank to turn easy. (enough by hand without force) Freed up the lifters and cleaned pushrods. I'll have a photo or two tonight. Going to put assembly lube on the crank mains to help lube when in motion. I sprayed lubed the cam and lifters with LPS.
