My first M151 Arrived
My M-151 arrived this morning all the way from the West Coast this morning. (got here in 3 days).... Its supposed to be a 1966 production. Thats what the data plate and the title says , but I am not 100% sure of that. Its in awesome condition . uncut frame , no rust and runs great. I plan on repainting it and adding a few things but as of today I have placed my feet in the water....

Welcome to the site, Open the hood and on the cowl if you are lucky you will find the Budd body tag welded to the cowl directly above the valve cover. If that is there you can get those numbers to Ken the mutt guru on here and he can get you a month and year on manufacture.
Where abouts are you located?

I looked for the Budd tag first thing when it got here but I did not see it. They guy I got it from has had it since 2000 and it has the same data plate on it that was there when he got it. He said he was not sure about the date but thats what the title says and plate. I am going to look a little more in-depth on it tomorrow and see if I can find anything. I realize I may never know its true history without that tag but either way I am going to fix it up as a Army 1966-67 period one . I am looking forward to getting going on it...

Hello? Flat top air cleaner, no third brake light, Flat bar shovel handle brackets. Does this happen to have oval front floor drains? I believe you have a straight 151 that someone has added turn signals to. On the fenders where the signals are mounted are there welded in reinforcing plates with a raised mount for the light? Are the front seats screw adjust? I believe you will find the body tag under the grill on top of the left frame support. It is most likely a Kaiser of Freuhauf body.

Re: My first M151 Arrived
It does seem to be a straight M-151. All the things you had listed it has and the guy I bought it from did mention he added the signal lights. I will look for the tag under the grill and see what I find....It is registered as a Kaiser but the data plate has a date of 4-66 on it which is why I doubted that to be correct. If I can find the body tag it may answer my questions...rickf wrote:Hello? Flat top air cleaner, no third brake light, Flat bar shovel handle brackets. Re: My first M151 Arrived
I was wondering if those turn signals were mounted on the bosses as they look low. What is the roll bar in the back?

The guy added that roll bar to it. I plan on removing it this weekend. I plan on adding the antenna mount and radio mounts to it after I repaint it....lpcoating wrote:I was wondering if those turn signals were mounted on the bosses as they look low. What is the roll bar in the back?

Re: My first M151 Arrived
Yes, it's a Willys or Kaiser....it could be a straight M151 or possibly an A1 depending on the date of delivery.
You need to find that body-tag. If you get stuck, e-mail me.

Re: My first M151 Arrived
Also, check to see if there is a tag under the horn where it is bolted in, in may have a date, might have to remove some paint to see it. Horns get replaced but it could help solve your puzzle.

Re: My first M151 Arrived
I plan on giving it a good going over for the tag this weekend when I will have plenty of time to spend on it. I really hope to find one so I can get an accurate idea on its date and such....muttguru wrote:Yes, it's a Willys or Kaiser....it could be a straight M151 or possibly an A1 depending on the date of delivery.

Re: My first M151 Arrived
Thanks for the welcome...I actually found it on the G503 forum for sale in Idaho. The guy I got it from has had it since 2000 and he got it from some guy from California. It is in the condition that he originally bought it in. But that is the only history on it that I have .....csmith wrote:Welcome Manhorne! Looks like you have a pretty sweet 151 there.
