The cowls & cowl vent area were always a sore spot for rust with the M37 trucks...

I will have to check around the vent for any bondo but it looks solid.

The patch looks good Rick, what gauge metal is the body made of?

The cowl at least appears to be 18 or 20, I haven't cut into a good solid section yet. Once I trim back the rust before I weld in the patch I will have a better idea. The fenders are lighter than I thought. I was thinking of the older WC's that had probably 16 ga. fenders. These are substantially lighter.

Well, A fellow member posted in the classifieds "Free parts". I NEVER, Ever, get in on these deals but I called him and he asked if I was serious and could I come tomorrow? I said yes and yes and the deal was done. Thanks Jared. I haven't worked that hard in quite a while plus the damn truck locked up a front caliper on me in traffic on 95 on the way home but it was worth it.
Here is the haul, I am far to sore to unload it today. Probably pushed a bit too hard after back surgery a few months ago but free is free!

Does anybody recognize that seat bottom? It has a pivot bracket on the sides and is not the same shape or size as the m37 passenger seat. If someone recognizes it or needs it let me know. I will get better pictures as I unload stuff.

Wonder if that seat bottom isn't the passenger's seat out of an M35 (M211)? I think they flipped up....

From what he told me it had 6,000 miles on it when he got it. No title, the frame is immaculate! The original owner started to restore it and lost interest. There will be some good stuff there, I got a full diff gear set and a transmission and the transfer case is still in it. Steering box is still there. he rear of the frame and rear suspension is all like brand new. I wish I got this before I tore into that cowl, there is the cowl he cut off and more importantly is the inner supports which are both in real good shape. I may put that stuff all aside for the future body off resto. Start cleaning it all up now and have it ready for then. He had mentioned to me that the seat bottom may be for the ambulance version.

No. I have a lot of stuff that is going to be leaving very soon. I am going to have to start listing stuff on Craigslist as much as I hate dealing with the riff raff that comes with that.

I don't know why but apparently Photobucket has released my pictures at least temporarily. I am going to go through and replace as many as I can before they disappear again. This is a test of the new app I am trying so they will all be together.
