Joe, That locking device was made by a member on here or the 503. I do not remember who it was now. All it is is a couple of pieces of aluminum angle and a rivet. Notched for the switch and drilled to mount behind the switch nut. It could be defeated fairly easily but it is mainly to keep kids from playing and make it a little harder for thieves. I use a cobra cable looped through the brake and clutch pedals and up through the steering wheel when I have to leave it out at night. I have gotten very creative on some of my vehicles, My CJ you have to flip three switches And they all have to be in the right position. Right does not always mean "ON" either. Oh, the three switches are not all together. I also failed to mention that the switches are not necessarily marked correctly either.

I want to thank everyone who contributed to this ordeal. You all know who you are, If I start naming names I am bound to forget someone. Hell, I am not even sure who I am in the morning anymore! And to think, I get to do this again this winter. As it sits I am not happy with some of the bodywork but I can fix that at a later date. The front diff is leaking on one side so I am going to fill it up and see what happens. If it gets too bad I will just pull the drive axles off of the front, I am not going to be needing four wheel drive for Aberdeen anyway.

Roger that Rick. Thanks for the tip on the locking device. I have also done the hiden toggle switch trick on my civvy jeeps (did it to a dirtbike once too) in the past but never multiple switches as you discribed. Labeling them incorrectly has still got me rolling!!!!

Rick
Rick,
My deuce had the same device and I am the first civy owner. Other vehicles from the same guard unit had the same thing. At least at this unit they were doing while the vehicles were still in service. I posted pics of mine a couple of years ago on Steelsoldiers.com. BTW, Nice and just in time for Aberdeen.

OK, Everything is on that is going on, fluids checked and ready to go. One thing left was to insulate the floor because my dog is going to be in there at Aberdeen. I had a plastic bag of brake of brake parts between the seats and the bag melted to the floor!

Yes I am, You will find that I will protect my dog as well as my children. The kids are long gone so now all I have is the dog. He does not talk back, does what he is told and will sit by you no matter what. Yup, I spoil my dog.
