Thanks for the compliment Clell and yes there is something to the fact that Top Tiger's name is on this Mutt. Back when I bought the other A2 the decision was made to keep one and sell the other. This one is the "other". I'd love to keep multiple Jeeps but room comes at a real premium in my garage and then there's the wife that I need to contend with. I've been able to convince her of lot's of things but me owning three classic cars simultaneously is still something I've yet to fully accomplish :)

Ah, And the cat is finally out of the bag! :D
I feel privileged to have know about this deal for quite some time and have watched Matt go to great lengths to make this a perfect vehicle. I can be pretty sure he has accomplished that goal. OK Matt, walk away from these vehicles for a while. Your hair is going to be as gray as mine of non existent if you keep up this pace. Job well done.

Well Matt & Geoffery, congratulations to you both :!: :!: Its great that such a wonderful Mutt Restoration will stay in the G8 family! And Geoffery, you could not buy a better mutt if you could go back in time and take one off the assembly line :!: :)

So Matt, really, whats the plan for the Bastrow Mutt, are you going to give it the Mr. D restoration? We all know you cannot just keep it the way it is for long

Well Clell I can promise you that the Barstow is not going into a complete restoration mode anytime in the extreme near future. We're in the process of selling our house and buying something closer to the lake (here in Austin). My priorities will be shifting to that endeavor but this winter could find me with renewed energy. Truth is though I really like the Bartsow like it is... we'll see how long that sticks.

Well done, Mr D. Even nicer than your first restoration. I'll take good care of it.
Looks like the next photo will be taken in central florida.
Dan, Its due to be delivered 1st week of September so if you heading over my way, come on by for a look see and lunch.
Clell, my #1 son {4.5 years old} must have overheard me telling my brother in law { collects 60s sports cars -Porsche, Ferrari, Maserati } about this and saw the photos I had on my iPhone. I had mentioned that now I will have two of them, one for each of the boys. The next day my son came to me asked me to print a copy of the photo of his jeep {my motor pool resto 72 A2}. Then his little brother { 3} came to me crying and wanted to know why his brother had a jeep and he didn't. So I told him he also had one and his was better... and printed out Mr. D's latest. He was happy..... then about 10 minutes later the both of them were going at- mine is better than yours....and all that.

Cute story!

Would you care to adopt a 36 year old overweight married man with a new born child, you'll be an instant grandfather

The boys are only 3 and 4 and they already have their own jeeps, way to go dad! My son was born three weeks ago today (Friday) and he already owns his own firearm (Sig Sauer 522), I told my wife I'm buying it for him and keeping it in the safe untill he becomes of age. I liked the gun so much that I bought one for myself so I wouldn't have the urge to shoot his.

Mr. D, I've said it before and i'll say it again, Beautiful Job on the Jeep, Handsome looking vehicle.

Thats a funny story Top but you know they will be duking it out for the new one once you get it home! Better go ahead now and make a deal with Matt for the restored Bastrow when he finishes so you will have two new and shinny mutts :)

TopTiger wanted a license plate mount (with a light) and this is what we whipped up in the M151 workshop. Thanks to Rookie for the welding and design... I think it looks awesome! The beauty of this location means this license plate mount can be removed and swapped out (with one lugnut), for a standard spare tire retainer, to return the Jeep to a more military look and feel. I hope you like it Top
