When I had my powder coating business I had a custom bicycle frame builder send me a hand built frame that he wanted just clear coated. Looked pretty cool as he had some wicked skills with a TIG welder. Just cleaned with de-natured alcohol and shot with clear powder as he wanted to be able to see all of the heat marks from welding.

Some more progress on project. Finished up battery and battery cover hold downs. Now working on front pass side fender. For those of you in the know, the rear battery cover latch looks out of position compared to the original because I have the distance between the batteries about an inch more compared to the original. On the orignal that tab is centered in the battery hold down bracket. Not sure why I did that (it was 5 years ago!) but I did. Not changing it now!

Check out the fit up of the fender top to the body. This is a good example of why I spend the time that I do on making our parts as close as possible to the originals. This makes the project much easier!

I guess all those barbs I tossed at you over the years are done, Can't find anything to bust on you about anymore. Looks really good and starting to come together as a whole vehicle quite well.

You're getting soft in your old age! Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. Well, maybe Vinny...

How well does that flanger/punch work at flanging? I am working on my M37 and I am going to have to get creative with the cowl panels.

Punch works very nice. I've done up to 16 ga with it. The flange tool is so-so. I've not used it much but it appears to be a little limited. I'm thinking that it's more for 20 ga or thinner. 18 is okay but nothing to brag about. I borrowed it from a friend so I've never actually looked up what it's rated for.

You should include a few flashback photos with your work, if it's not too much trouble. This is exciting to watch!

I kind of like that box, keeps the terminals more than a half inch away from the cover like the stock setup. And opens up the possibility of cheaper batteries like group 24's.

Passenger side front fender is pretty much complete. I'll thinking I'll weld in a backing plate on the inside where the replacement fender top meets the original. Will look at that after I get the driver side installed.

Need to grind and blend:

Started fitting the Driver Side front fender top last night. I'll have to hammer on the original front fender lip at some point as my truck took a hit and has some damage.

Clamped a piece of 18 ga to allow for the dash panel as it sits between the fender top and the fire wall:
