Is it a 25 or 77? Is it functional?

Hello Francis that's the same reason why I picked it up . its functional and was a Canadian radio. I'ts data plate says USMC RT505B/PRC-25 so yes a 25 set.

Tomorrow I will open the radio to see if the mods from 25 set to 77 set have been made

Not sure if that was actually Canadian. I have a Canadian PRC-77, and the data-plate had "DND Canada" on it.

I suppose its possible the earlier 25 Sets were originally destined to the USMC, especially considering Canadian MUTTs were bought directly from the US Army and plucked right off of the assembly line during their 71 Contract run.
