Rick, I am not looking at a Toyota, I am looking at the picture where you see an A2 in the background. You see the missing left hand side rack but a civvy steering on the right hand side. Or, as said, my eyes...

Horst, Now that I look again I see the front fender profile and all the correct markings on the rear panel. You can see the original hole where the steering was in the dash. I would love to see the rest of the linkage.

Re: mutt restoration in Pakistan
It appears to be coming from the valve cover. Is the PCV valve working and not clogged up? That would cause pressure in the engine and oil leaks. Also if that distributor is not sealed it will leak. What is that distributor out of? How is it mated to the original drive? The only way to know for sure is to clean the whole engine and then watch closely for where it starts to come out.

Re: mutt restoration in Pakistan
the carburetor used is of suzuki potohar sj410 jeep and distribeutor is of car 4 k engine
the mechanics here instal this carburetor to increase fuel economy.
but please tell be is there any effect on fuel economy if i use orignal carburetor?will its consumption increase?s present carburetor is small in size?
i want to install orignal but mechanic says that it will effect starting like delay starting.
so please those who own mutt share your experince regarding orignal carburetor efficiency and fuel consumption

Re: mutt restoration in Pakistan
oh so you are getting 5km/liter.
but why mutt consumes so much fuel
as the big jeeps like wrangler land cruiser give good fuel average then mutt

Re: mutt restoration in Pakistan
Modern computer controls work wonders. The old 71 horsepower engine is straining to push the 151 around so it use more fuel and does so inefficiently.

Re: mutt restoration in Pakistan
@rickf my mechanic offered me that he can install injectors in engine and the engine will become efi like modern engines and then there will be no function of carburetor.
This will reduce fuel comsumption and increase power.bit still I want to keep it as original

How many miles do you think you'll have to travel in order to make that conversion worth while?vicious77 wrote:@rickf my mechanic offered me that he can install injectors in engine and the engine will become efi like modern engines and then there will be no function of carburetor.

I'm trying to imagine/comprehend all of the sensors required to run EFI being grafted onto a 151 engine...
