Re: A2 Rebuild
Have you been sand blasting any of the parts before sending for powder coating ?
Re: A2 Rebuild
they've done the blasting on the bigger parts, I've done some of the smaller parts in my blast cabinet. Alot more cost effective having them do it with the size of their blaster than doing it yourself.
Re: A2 Rebuild
Got the suspension and diff's installed , order new diff for the rear and got a great deal from TNJ on a complete front suspension assembly with they said low miles for $500.00 , salavged the diff from it , when I pulled the drain plug very little build up on the magnet.
always handy to have some extra parts
NOS parts
box of NOS parts to rebuild front, complete arms with bushings installed
still need to install the drive shaft and tie rods

Re: A2 Rebuild

It's getting there, cutting the cowl for the heater intake has me nervous thou, hope to get it all in next weekend
Re: A2 Rebuild
Be sure to get your slave outlet in before the heater. You cannot do it afterwards.

Re: A2 Rebuild
Not sure if I'm really need/want to install the slave rect., your input?
Re: A2 Rebuild
no heater, no slave rect. Has heater, has slave.
I would not put any of it in. Heater is useless without full top and costs way too much legroom. But I say this because mine doesn't have any.

Re: A2 Rebuild
Well after a week of working on it in the evening for a few hours and most of a Sunday the slave recpt. and heater are in, only took the hide off the back of one hand reaching around under the dash. Started it back up after 3 months of rebuilding
under dash, circuit breaker and resistor
Drivers side duct
Drivers dash
grab handle
Under dash backside of grab handle reinforced with a piece of bar stock
slave
cutting a hole in a perfectly good body
hook the heater hose up first before trying to put the duct on for the defrost
the defrost duct what a bitch
lifted it up and got a couple of the screws started wasn't to much of a bitch, ammo can helped hold it up
new windshield and gasket's, little tight getting the pins in
New seat cushions for weebee webbing, top and doors are ordered hope to get them soon
hood is on
still have to get a front end alignment and lots of small stuff, Army bumper will replace the USMC one

Re: A2 Rebuild
Very, very nice job. I am especially impressed given the tight workspace you have. Pls keep posting as you wrap it up.
Re: A2 Rebuild
thanks, remembering where I put a part does cause me a headache sometimes, but it also maybe the age factor to, lol, I've done my Samurai and FJ55 landcrusier that I had in there, wanting to build a garage maybe in a few years
Re: A2 Rebuild
