Rock Island Arsenal M718 data plate Unknown M151A1
This is a new post
Finally took a three hour drive to Fanshawe Ok to get the last jeep and some parts. This is a M151A1 Has a M718 VIN from Rock Island Arsenal. Dad says someone switched The plates so it would not get cut. Now I have a RARE UNCUT M151A1 and a RARE M718 Data Plate from Rock Island Arsenal. Also have lots of parts. Had to leave some behind though. Comments are appreciated. Any questions can be posted in the comments.
Front data plate
Rear plate
Actually has battery tray and passenger floorboard this time
Had to take the drive shaft off
This is all the parts we left at Fanshawe

Igr,
there are some ambulance parts in one of the photos but I can't see any evidence that your A1 was an ambulance. There's also a hood from a Ford-built A2 as well.
It seems there was a batch of M718s under the RIA contract which were delivered in May or June 1966. They were originally built as M151A1s in Jan-Feb 1966 but spent several months at RIA being converted to ambulances. Can you make out what the date-of-delivery is on the dash dataplate?

I see two sets of the often asked for round bow to windshield rods. If you are going the sell some of the parts I have seen many inquiries about them. Make that three sets, one more in the pile in the garage.

Ken actually there is no delivery date stamp on the plate very weird. And the inspection stamp says "P.A.N"

You say you had to leave parts "behind"…meaning you'll go back for them? I sure hope you do!

I have seen some mashed hoods but those take the cake!

Re: Rock Island Arsenal M718 data plate Unknown M151A1
Yes, that's very odd. All the ones I've seen have had the d-o-d stamped in. By the way, I'm told that "P.A.N." was the inspector at RIA..... there are several M718 dashplates bearing his initials. He also did M151A1C's at RIA as well.lgr1997 wrote:Ken actually there is no delivery date stamp on the plate very weird. And the inspection stamp says "P.A.N"
