I did not comment on the lines because even though I know they should be painted I also like the polished copper look. To me it just adds some contrast.

Thought would pass along a couple of issues that developed with the jeep. Had started it a couple of times and had been able to set the timing etc. and let it warm up good to check for any leaks or malfunctions and everything was really great. Started it to move it and do the alignment and started to run real rough, miss, sort of back fire, run slower and finally didn't want to run at all. Made sure we had gas, then checked for fire, and the fire at the plug seemed very weak. Checked for 24 volts into the distributor, had that, checked coil ohms, checked ok, but then it was cold, so still thought that probably that could still be the problem, checked the points and they where ok and had not slipped or anything, so replaced the condenser and gave it a try and it run like a top. We had replaced all electric parts with NOS parts, who would of thought that a condenser would have failed that quick. Back in my days of old tractors and cars always replaced condenser along with the points, but never had a condenser failure. Then the next problem popped up, did not charge anymore, had really worked great when first started. Started checking all connections and such, all ok, then did the generator test, as found here on the G and it showed to be ok, then did the continuity test on the cable from the generator to the voltage regulator and the three pins checked out ok, then did the pin to outside metal and we had it there also, and it should not be there. I have the 25 amp system so will source a cable tomorrow. Have access to another cable so will put it on and make sure. I have all the manuals -10, -20,-30 and downloaded the -20 manual here from the manual section which is an earlier one and more correct for me and reading the postings with similar problems it was a quick fix. Thank you G838 for all the vast amount of knowledge here to be shared

My method of displaying the license plate, In Kansas, when you register an antique vehicle and get an antique tag you have to display it and also needs to be lighted. I chose this method if I want it off for a mv show and not have the tag on, all I have to do is removed the two bolts on the bracket and unplug two wires from the trailer socket, and the light is a 24 volt.

I have an early M151 (62) and the ground wire to the trailer receptacle is #90 and that is pin D or L , either one is a ground. The service tail light wire to the trailer receptacle is #21 and it's pin is E. Double check this with a volt meter, turn on your service lights and with the volt meter with the - lead put it into D or L or to a good ground will also work, and your + lead to the E pin your bolt meter should show the voltage. If in doubt always best to check with volt meter.

I like the spare tire cover. I'm still holding on to mine, a carryover from my last days with a California NG company before they shipped over to Humvees. The disc is white with black letters on one side, and the "tactical side" is field drab with black letters.

Done now. When this pic was taken a few minor details yet to be done, passenger seat yet, battery cover, fire extinguisher, rest of lug nuts etc. The stencils were put on according to what we had in Germany in 64 when I got there. The stencils by the gas tank where like that and I have never seen any like it since. There is a picture in "my favorite pictures" and under "M151 in Germany" that shows it that way. I do have a top for it and might at times have it on when the M60 is not mounted.

Yes, I am planning on taking it to the MVPA show in Topeka this month. The last I heard Paul & Gary from MV Specialties are also going to be in attendance.

My M151 at the 40th MVPA convention in Topeka, Ks. Had my original uniform and duffle bag, table for all the manuals, original ticket book, drivers license, German driving rules book, log book, etc. and the sign board with the restoration process from start to finish. I was in motor pool class due to the MP signs and blue lights. Had a gold placing.

Rick, I might of been able to stand at attention part of the time, BUT the uniform part, well I would of had to have some pretty long rubber bands to go from the buttons to the button holes :D
