Windshield is not original, but at least correct. I think this was originally Military Police. Note holes in fenders for siren and red light. Comments welcome. Looks like there was a slave receptacle in the TOP of the cowling which dented the windshield.

The truck had been sitting for 10 years. Before I even tried to start it, I pulled the engine and disassembled to ensure no problems. I replaced one main bearing, cleaned and reassembled. The intake was full of nuts from a squirrel using it for storage. Runs great.

I'm working on the rusted "dog leg" now. A complex part to fabricate with compound bends. I have one side done now. I'll put up some photos later. This is me after a day of clearing brush around the property. It makes doing chores fun! (sort of). Battery cover is off there, but is now on and secure.

Re: My 151a1
You replaced One main bearing? Why didn't you just replace the whole set? It looks exceptionally straight, how is the rust underneath? That is not the right windshield for an A1, That is a early straight 151 windshield. Have you run the Budd tag by Ken yet?

Re: My 151a1
I got the numbers first post I ever made on this sight. What's the difference between the m151 and m151a1 windshield? Internally the rust is minimal. Some perforation of the floor right above the outrigger support, but not bad. I will replace both floors anyway. The battery tray floor and tool box are solid and perfect. Outriggers under the floor are bad. I think they collected rain water running through the floor perforation. Not bad, but I have replacements.
I have a feeling that the windshield and grill were military police unique and were robbed for another project. It's a guess. The previous owner was a military collector who passed. I would have enjoyed talking to him.

The windshield bumpers on top of the windshield are the metal strap with webbing type which is the older type. The A1 used square rubber bumpers, the same ones that are used under the dash for pedal stops as a matter of fact. NOW, Some A1's could have had that windshield, mine does. Mine is an early 64 and was a transition year from straight to A1. I have the early windshield, the ratchet parking brake, screw adjust seats and one oval floor drain. The previous owner replaced the drivers side floor with a scupper drain. Somewhere WAY back on here are pictures of where I had to build most of the left side from scratch to replace his wannabe bodywork. I will be doing that for a long time to come as I can.

Here's the passenger dogleg with a patch welded in. This piece was no fun to make. I have a metal shrinker and stretcher to make the compound bends, but it was still a bear. Also had to remove the shovel bracket and weld it back on. I bought floor panels from lpf coatings. I wish he would make a dogleg patch panel.

Got hold of a good canvas top. Only one brown window. The rest are shriveled but clear. It was a lot of fun stretching this thing out to fit again. Wet it down first!
