Then you need to adapt the wiring harness to accept the built in regulator. Lets not confuse the issue here.

Curt, here are the pictures you requested in your PM of my electronic voltage regulator.

Also note I have rubber fuel hoses in my A1, as I have a mechanical fuel pump in place of my vacuum pump.

I have an A2 windshield, so no vacuum pump needed.

Here is the old breadbox voltage regulator. It still works, but I decided to use my spare (it was a takeout from a demilled vehicle) on the vehicle, and use the breadbox as my spare. As you can see, there are a lot of layers of paint on the breadbox.

Just plug and go? don't have to flash the generator?

Sorry for all the questions...newbie here.

My M-151 has vacuum wipers with manual over ride...lol

Last question...do i replace the volt gauge with a battery level gauge?

Um............ A volt gauge IS a battery level gauge. Everything in the vehicle stays the same when you put in the later regulator. It is a direct bolt in replacement.
