^&%$^%$ Rocker arm Studs

Unread post by Surveyor » August 29th, 2016, 8:55 pm

Following the 34-1 manual to put the engine back together. Painting along the way and looking good so far. Following the instructions on 3-66 I get everything together and set the valve adjustment with no problems over the weekend. This afternoon I was going to do a little more work before it got dark and I just so happen to flip through the head repair section back to where I was previously. Thought I had passed my stopping point. Here it mentions using sealer for the studs which of course was not mentioned in the previous reassembly section. I'm assuming the sealer is to keep the studs from backing out? Going to go back and correct tomorrow. Just curious, there is not an opening through the studs from the water jacket to the top of the head is there?
