oil for transmission and differentials

Unread post by muttero » December 11th, 2016, 4:38 pm

Hi,

I want to replace the oil of the transmission and differentials, and as stated in the LO, there should be a 80w/90w. but there are at least two types: GL4 and GL5. Can I use both ones or not??

Many thanks for the help,

If you can get the GL-4 use that in all of the transmission and differentials. That way you have one oil for all spots.

Hambone

Apologizes for not have been a research. thanks for the link.

Rick,

I have already 15 liters of Gl5, that I presume can only use in differentials right?

many thanks for your help.

I am giving some love to my baby

I am planning to replace the brake fluid, which is at least from 2009, but do not know what kind of fluid does it ave already.... How Can I know? I bought the jeep at morlock motors... I have been doing recearch at the forum, and from what I have read it is recomended to dissambled all the wheel cilinders, it is not enaought to take the current fluid out, and then fill the master, with new one??

Thanks for your help

If the GL5 has the MT-1 designation then it is fine for the transmission. I did not know you already had oil. If it does not have the MT-1 designation I would not use it in the transmission but it would be fine in the differentials.
