4-6 lbs. but you also have to make sure you have enough volume. Some of those little inline pumps move just enough gas for a Briggs and Stratton lawn mower. You will be able to idle but driving down the road you may start to have problems . The main problem with the inline pumps is they are designed to be real close to the tank and close to or below the fluid level. You are not going to be able to do either unless you mount it in the drivers footwell which would satisfy both needs,. There are a lot that will work but for how long is the question. Basically you get what you pay for.

I ran an external fuel pump on my A1 for the first year I had it on the road. The truck ran ok but I was shocked by how much better in ran once I fixed the in tank pump. I am sure it was fuel pressure related but the pump was rated for 6 lbs so it was right in the sweet spot. Still didn't run well. So my advice would be if you are going to run an aftermarket pump, just be prepared to try a few in case the first one doesn't do the job well.

Getting pump this weekend, After I install and run for a few days I will report back.
This could be an economical fix for a lot of people.
Those in tank pumps are expensive and difficult to locate!
I can't rember if I said or not, but this pump has a check valve so it wont have to be located near the gas sourse!
I will be mounting this under the hood so their wont be any change to the look of the vehicle! :D :D :D

The check valve is not the issue, the pumps are not made to draw a vacuum in air so therefore they need to have a steady supply of fluid to stay primed. They will do it for a while but they lose a lot of their volume from trying to pull a draft. I am not familiar with that particular pump so only time will tell. Here is the pump, https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/produ ... RecID=8051, It is the same one most people use and it will not give you the performance you want mounted that far from the tank. It may work for the short term.

I bought an in-tank pump several years ago to replace the engine pump, now I wonder where I stuck it?I wonder if it would dry out making it useless?

I ran a Facet 24 volt electric fuel pump on my A1 after my in tank pump died. Bought the one with the highest rated volume. This was back around 2005. Tried resurrecting the in tank pump with no luck. Wired it using a jumper from the in tank lead. Mounted it under the hood with a check valve so it would not loose prime. Worked for about 2 months before it quit. Didn't quit altogether but got to where it would not deliver enough fuel to run properly. That was when I did my restoration. As part of that, I put on a Dodge slant 6 mechanical pump, and changed the windshield and hinges to an A2 so I could have electric wipers. At the time, electric in tank A1 fuel pumps were made out of pure unobtanium. The A2 windshield was one of the best things I ever did to my M151A1. Guess that kind of makes it a M151A1 and 1/2.
