fan pulley question

Unread post by CentraSpike75 » March 22nd, 2017, 11:59 pm

I searched the index but I did not find what I was looking for.
Can I use a 3 groove pulley on a 25 amp system? I know it is a different diameter and will require larger matched belts.
My 2 groove has a chunk missing and I have a 3 groove laying around.
Thanks,
Andy

You can do it but the problem will be the belts, they are so short that finding three that will all tighten together will be almost impossible. There are run numbers on the belts that shoe the run position on the master roll and also the master roll number, you need to find the same master roll and then consecutive position numbers. That is going to be real hard in today's market.

I haven't found it yet, so if someone has one more accessible I'd go with that, as I stuck it somewhere, my housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired, well maybe the housekeeping is ok, it's my memory that is lacking
