Another Hood Gap Issue

Unread post by Surveyor » March 28th, 2017, 9:46 pm

You can see what's causing it but I'm not sure if this was how the first ones were built with the nut welded on top like the interior side two and then later models were modified to where the nut was placed underneath

or

did someone bubba these brackets? Any other early owners have this?

Edit - now thinking about it, I need to put the grill back to see if this really going to be an issue.

The air cleaner brackets I've see have a flat head screw in that location. Similar to an elevator bolt.

I had one like this also. How I corrected it is that I took 5/16 carriage bolt and put in lathe and shaved the head down flat then welded in place and re smooth it out.
