Clutch Takeup

Unread post by kmam » April 7th, 2017, 7:20 pm

I am getting close to completing my 18 months restoration. Started it up and drove it out of the shed. The clutch is savage - instantly moves from disengaged to engaged with no chance of easing it to take up.

I can't believe thisis normal. Can anyone suggest the cause?

Makes me think of clutch type, free play in pedal, I think the disc type clutch grabs more as opposed to the fiber type clutch,

You will need to adjust the rod that goes into the bell housing. You want to screw it our some but just do a little at a time and try it because if you screw it out of the adjuster in there you will learn lots of new words trying to get it back in. If you have the A2 style puck disc they are pretty aggresive but you get used to it and you will be using it like a regular vehicle in no time. It is much better once adjusted.
