I am in the final stages of my restoring my A2. I have bough a new Windscreen but the linkage was missing. I was lucky to get a used windscreen with the linkage. So I will switch the linkage and install it together with the NOS wiper motor.
My question is: on the long linkage part there seems to be a slotted hole to which the actual wiper is attached. To me it seems that there is a lot of free play. Is this normal? Or is there to be some sort of special nut etc?

Looks like a replacement cowl gasket might be in order also.
