Flywheel
The flywheel on my A2 steps down to the area where the clutch plate comes into contact with it. As I understand it this would normally be higher than the rest of the flywheel, not lower.
So, I am not sure if this is how it should be or if it indicates the flywheel face is worn and need to be machined to spec?

Re: Flywheel
Some are flat and some are recessed, I don't remember right off which these are but I have a NOS one in the garage I can check after I get back from physical therapy this morning. If it is recessed I will measure how far down it is.

Rick
So I take it there may have been two types of flywheel? In that case are there two types of pressure plate to suit?

Re: Flywheel
Howard, I totally forgot! Sorry, I will check it out in the morning if it is not raining. Should only be one flywheel. There are two types of clutch disc and I have seen both finger style and diaphragm style pressure plates. I have been told that you have to use the finger style with the later puck disc but I have no proof and I have used the diaphragm with the puck with no ill effects.

Re: Flywheel
No worries. If you can get to the fly wheel would it be possible to take some close up photos showing the shape of the face of it? Perhaps with a ruler across and maybe indicating depths as well?

Re: Flywheel
Howard, I got some pics but Photobucket has decided to get stupid and will not let me do anything because I have an ad blocker. I take it off and I can't do anything because I am swamped with ads! If you PM me your e-mail I will send you the pics. The surface is basically flat. It steps down .007 from the area that the pressure plate bolts to to the surface that the disc rides on. It is barely noticeable.
