Gasket for transmission cover

Unread post by Mulerider » June 17th, 2017, 9:09 pm

I have a 1967 M151As I am restoring. I need to replace the gasket material on the transmission cover where the gear shifts come through. Can anyone tell me what you have used for that?

You can buy a new gasket or just use some Permatex, works just fine.

Most parts stores have sheets of different thickness's of gasket material, get a sheet and lay the cover on it and cut one out. Might have to do it in sections. Or RTV if you are not worried about original.
